A little about us

Connection, Community & Care

My Story: From Zimbabwe to the Perth Hills

My name is

Di Van Der Walt

I am a speech pathologist, a clinic director, a mentor and a mum. I have been working with children, families and therapists for close to twenty years, and what continues to matter most to me is connection.

When people feel genuinely understood, they grow. When children feel safe in a room, their communication opens up. When therapists feel supported, their confidence rises. And when parents feel heard, they exhale.

I was born and raised in Zimbabwe and much of who I am comes from those early years. Life there taught me resourcefulness, creativity and the importance of family staying together through difficult times. These values follow me into every room I walk into and every decision I make in this practice.

I started Perth Hills Allied Health with a seven month old on my hip and a deep desire to create therapy spaces that felt gentle. I never wanted children to feel pressured or rushed. I wanted families to feel welcomed and respected. I wanted a practice where connection was at the centre of everything. And I wanted therapists to grow in a way that felt aligned with who they are, not who they think they should be.

Three stream of our work

What We Offer

Today, our work flows through three main areas. Each of these spaces has been created with the same intention. To support. To uplift. To connect. And to honour each person’s story.

Speech Therapy for Children

Gentle, child led and strengths based therapy focused on connection, safety and growth.

Adult Learning Zones

Supportive, practical learning spaces for therapists, teachers and parents.

The Perth Hills Allied Health Clinic Hub

Building a private practice can be a lonely journey but it doesn't have to be. I’ve always believed that when therapists feel supported, their clinical work thrives. That is why we created the Clinic Hub, a warm and resource rich space in the Perth Hills for independent practitioners who want a professional home without the isolation.

This is more than just a room for hire; it is a space where you can be your own boss while remaining part of a grounded community. It’s a place to swap ideas by the coffee machine, share a laugh in the hallway, and feel the steady support of other therapists who truly understand the heart of this work.

Professional Therapy Room Hire in Roleystone.

We have four unique and sound proofed rooms, each with dimmable lighting and flexible layouts to suit your modality and your mood. We’ve kept the names simple so you can choose the environment that feels right for you and your clients:

The Green Room

A creative and flexible space with a whiteboard, art supplies, and plenty of floor room.

The Yellow Room

A cozy and versatile space featuring a comfortable couch and a whiteboard table.

The Blue Room

A soft and low arousal environment with a plush mat, ottomans, and a sensory felt wall.

The Orange Room

A playful space equipped with LEGO, whiteboards, and easily moveable furniture.

A Professional Home

When you join us at the Hub, you gain access to everything you need to run your day with ease. Your clients will be welcomed into our reception area which is stocked with books, blankets, and activities to help families feel at home from the moment they arrive.

You are welcome to use our well stocked store room of puppets, art supplies, and therapy tools, and our kitchen is always open for a cuppa, a Nespresso style coffee, or a quick toastie between sessions.
